Helping Heroes Staffing marked an exciting milestone with their first official day of work at Kroger on Friday, August 15, 2025. Helping Heroes Staffing, dedicated to connecting special needs individuals with meaningful employment opportunities, proudly watched their team members step into new roles within the grocery chain. Roderick Batson, the CEO of Helping Heroes Staffing, launched this unique staffing company that specifically employs individuals with special needs and could be seen onsite with his employees (referred to as Heroes) to help greet customers and market products within the store.
At the Kroger located at 1352 W 43rd Street in Houston, employees Santiago Molina & Daniel Yante, who both have autism, received an unforgettable boost of encouragement when Houston-based Artists/talent DJ XO and DJ Chose made a surprise visit to encourage the Heroes. The two artists stopped by to check in on Santiago & Daniel to congratulate them on their new roles, and show their support for the mission of Helping Heroes Staffing by purchasing samples of the products they were selling!
The visit brought smiles to employees and customers alike, turning an ordinary workday into a celebration. Kroger shoppers paused to greet the artists, take photos, and join in recognizing the importance of creating opportunities for those re-entering or growing within the workforce.
