Inspired by George Washington Carver, After the Peanut was created in 2014 and focuses on the power of knowledge and education in the face of adversity and challenges. We promote STEM and leadership to both the student and educational professionals. Our goal is to transform communities by increasing awareness of STEM Careers and building equity in STEM education.
Our belief in positively transforming this world, led us to form a non-profit entitled After the Peanut Foundation 2017. It is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. The first project under the Foundation is entitled “A Medal for Harriet”. This project aims to raise awareness about Harriet Tubman’s role in the Civil War as a soldier for the Union Army and ultimately build a transitional home in Joliet, Illinois for women veterans.
