    MONDAY MEETING

Don’t let Mondays scare you. It is just the day after Sunday and if you are an entrepreneur it may feel like Friday. Put on you lucky shirt and cook breakfast. Slip on those sparkly shoes. You know, the ones that says “hey everyone I have arrived”. Get your to-do list out and put a smile on your face because its about to get real. Make Mondays like you make Januarys , the beginning to something new. Learn to create an atmosphere that tears down the stereotypes of Mondays. Ca

Is “Work” a 4 Letter Word in Your House?

Over the years, I watched my mom go from a Jewel Osco cashier, to Bank Teller, to a home Loan Officer. At the end of her life she was making more than 90k. If it wasn’t for that damn colon cancer, I’m sure she would have clocked that 6 figures before 40. That’s pretty damn good for a single mom of three with no college degree. Hands down my mother was the ultimate hustler. Honestly, many of the single mothers I know are driven on a level of purpose regular folks will never un

The Filter on Your Facebook Picture is Great but Here’s How to Really Help Paris

Social media is a powerful thing. Showing your support for a cause, an organization, a group of people, etc. on sites like Facebook is great. It unites and keeps people connected. However, there is a lot more that can be done than just tweeting about it or putting a filter on a picture. Anyone can do that. While most Americans aren’t able to join the French forces or donate blood for people, there are many other ways to help support Paris. The French Red Cross Giving support

Obama Gives College Advice to Malia

Obama has said that he is having a hard time preparing his eldest daughter, Malia, for college next year. While sending her off to her first day of senior year of high school Obama said that he was “a little freaked out” during a speech he gave at Macomb County Community College last Wednesday. However, Obama let students in on some advice he has given Malia about going to college at a town hall on College Access and Affordability in Des Moines, Iowa on Monday. “Be open to ne

Dee Barnes Reacts to Dr. Dre’s Apology to ‘the Women I’ve Hurt’

“Straight Outta Compton” has topped the charts ever since it hit the theaters but critics have said that it leaves out Dr. Dre’s history of physically abusing women and skims over N.W.A.’s record of misogyny. Dee Barnes, Fox journalist and a victim of Dr. Dre’s abuse, seemed to think so too. Barnes wrote an essay for Gawker, “Here’s What’s Missing From Straight Outta Compton: Me and the Other Women Dr. Dre Beat Up”, in which she briefly describes her experience and her opinio

New Ingredients Added To an Old Favorite

As the end of August approaches, the days get a little shorter, the kids go back to school and the weather gets a little cooler. The tank tops and shorts get traded out for hoodies and jeans. The grill gets put on the back burner to the bonfire pit. And, of course, the lemonades and teas get swapped out for the beloved pumpkin spice lattes. However, this year some new changes are being made to the favorite fall drink. Starbucks announced last Monday that the pumpkin spice lat
